“Super” Sage Northcutt is gearing up for his return to the Circle and resume his journey in ONE Championship’s stacked lightweight roster. Following a harrowing knockout loss to Cosmo “Good Boy” Alexandre at ONE: ENTER THE DRAGON in May 2019, the American MMA star suffered multiple injuries which required immediate surgery.
But after years of recuperating, “Super” is back in business. He returns to the ONE fold against Ahmed “Wolverine” Mujtaba at ONE Championship’s U.S. debut show in Denver, Colorado, ONE Fight Night 10: Johnson vs. Moraes III on Prime Video.

Sage Northcutt didn’t lose his focus even after four years of sitting on the sidelines
Speaking on his return and goals at ONE, the Evolve MMA and Team Alpha Male athlete said, “I just had some time [to] take care of some personal things. It’s going to be exciting getting back in there. I’ll only be 27 years old, and have 14 professional MMA fights, so I’m super excited.”
“I feel like I’m just getting started and I’m still so young that I can have a lot of fights. I’m really excited to be fighting for ONE Championship for the first U.S. card. I think that’s really cool.”

A lifelong martial artist, Northcutt understands the pressing requirements to succeed in the sport. After all, the multiple-time Karate World Champion has been doing it since he was only 4 years old. He has never lost focus throughout, and even after four years removed from the Circle to recover from his injuries, “Super” has not lost sight of achieving greatness in his MMA career.
The 27-year-old said, “As of right now, [it has been] well over three and a half years. By the time I have this fight, it will be four years in May, so that was a long time ago.”

Sage Northcutt eyed a long career with a victory in his next bout over Ahmed Mujtatba
“But what I can say is I’m only 27 years old right now and came into this sport of mixed martial arts very young. Being 26 years old right now, I’m still extremely young so I’m looking forward to a long and successful career.”
Mujtaba will be a tough test for Northcutt, though. The Pakistani talent is riled up to put in one of his best career performances to date against one of the biggest names in the lightweight division.

If Northcutt can find a way to sting “Wolverine” with his potent knockout tools, he can certainly take the victory and ride on the momentum leading up to his next bout.
