Jonathan Di Bella says Danial Williams’ best weapons won’t be a problem for him

When he makes the walk to the iconic ring at the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Di Bella knows he’s in for a dangerous challenge. With extensive experience in Muay Thai, kickboxing, and MMA, Williams has proven himself to be not only an all-action fan favorite but also an explosive knockout artist capable of ending the fight at any moment. Di Bella gives his foe credit where it’s due. He said of ‘Mini T’: “I see a lot of things [about him]. I believe he has a great straight right hand. He has a lot of good calf kicks and good low kicks. His aggressiveness, his toughness. He has a lot of things. I’m ready for all of them.”

While Williams is renowned for his grit and aggression, the strawweight kickboxing titleholder is one of the world’s finest technicians and pushes a ferocious pace that few can match. Di Bella trusts in that technical prowess – it carried him to victory in his thrilling World Title-winning performance against Zhang Peimian.

The southpaw also trusts that, if he stays disciplined in his attack and focused on the task before him, he can score a finish on Friday night. He said: “Knockouts come. You’ve just got to do your combinations and fight in the moment, and if it comes, it comes. If it doesn’t, it doesn’t. I’ve just got to be exciting and give a good show.”

Ultimately, whether the finish comes or not, Di Bella expects an all-out war with the brawling Williams.

He added: “The fans should be excited for nonstop action. It’s going to be a barnburner. It’s going to be a great, great fight. Not only technique – I think it’s going to be a bloody war.”
