Demetrious Johnson went into ONE Championship with a chip on his shoulder. He was one of the best pound-for-pound fighters when he stepped inside ONE Circle. So far in his run, he has lived up to his reputation. Thus, Johnson has received only love from ONE Championship fans and fellow athletes.

After his big win over Rodtang in a unique rule set at ONE X, Johnson talked about what happened behind the scenes at ONE Championship.

Johnson said, “One of the things I love about the athletes at ONE Championship is like we are all f***ing just chill.”

The AMC Pankration representative told a chilling moment he had with Rodtang. He said, “I’m in the back, Rodtang is in the back… I said to Rodtang… ‘When I hit you… Did it hurt?’ And he [Rodtang] goes, ‘Nah’. I was like, ‘oh, okay, I will take that one.’”

Johnson further asked, “’Did I hit as hard as all the other people you fight?’ He [Rodtang] goes, ‘It’s all the same. I don’t know. It’s all the same.’ We are just chilling.”

Talking about the comradery between ONE Championship fighters, Johnson said, “You see Angela Lee back there with her baby; Stamp and her talking. I’m back there, I’m talking to Adriano; I was talking to Yuya Wakamatsu.”

Johnson added about the attitude ONE Championship athletes have for each other, “Like we’re just, we’re all athletes, and we’re all professional. We all want to win, and we all want to see each other win.”

“You know, it’s just dope vibe over there, it’s just different,” Johnson concluded.

Demetrious Johnson doesn’t believe he lost his mojo

“Mighty Mouse” lost his last MMA bout. In addition, the way he lost was unfamiliar territory for the 12-time World Champion. When Helwani asked whether Johnson feels he got back the momentum after the win over Rodtang Jitmuangnon, Johnson said, “I never thought I lost my mojo.”

Johnson offered he is a veteran of the sport, and thus he understands that wins and losses are just part of the sport.

Johnson gave an example of Adriano Moraes helping Stamp Fairtex get over her, ONE Atomweight Title bout, loss at ONE X.
