The decorated judoka talent has been busy with a strict training schedule in her adopted home of New York, and she has enlisted the help of some of the American city’s most-lauded gyms, including Serra BJJ, Longo And Weidman MMA, and Ultimate Gym, to hone her arsenal ahead of her upcoming bout.

Itsuki Hirata revealed her plans to join the American Top Team

While the trainers and coaches Hirata has worked with on this occasion have equipped her with invaluable tools to power her to a win over Ham inside the Singapore Indoor Arena, she wants to venture further afield afterward to develop her knowledge of MMA further.

And the next stop on her mind is American Top Team. Speaking to ONE Championship about her training stint in the United States, Hirata shared, “Right now, I am focusing on training for my upcoming fight, but I would like to visit other camps during my off-season. I especially want to go to American Top Team (ATT). I talked about it with ABEMA when we are having the “train abroad project” on ABEMA, but there are a lot of fighters at ATT and sometimes, the coaches can’t see everyone.”

“So, even if I go, it might just end up being chaotic – in a good way – with everyone training together. At my current gym, I have a coach who works with me one-on-one, but I would like to go to other gyms to train when I don’t have a fight scheduled.”

Itsuki Hirata’s training in North America might be an advantage for her

Hirata will need all the knowledge she has picked up in North America when she steps inside the Circle for her sixth promotional appearance this Friday night. Standing in her way of victory is an athlete who is enjoying an incredible eight-fight winning streak that stretches back to 2017.

Ham’s run of wins has come about thanks to her tough all-around arsenal, making her one of the most feared fighters in the stacked women’s atomweight division.“Hamzzang” thrives in a toe-to-toe battle, and she will be more than willing to trade punches with Hirata.

However, with “Android 18” working on her boxing and Muay Thai skills recently, things could get very interesting when these two stars meet at ONE Fight Night 8.
