He would stick true to his word despite the challenges he may face against the ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Champion.

“A lot of people, when you look at Rodtang’s fight, when he fought Mini T [Danial Williams], when he fought Walter Goncalves, when he fought Jonathan Haggerty, those guys don’t have that concept of pressure. Demetrious Johnson wouldn’t rush a finish at ONE X

The former ONE Flyweight World Title Challenger went on to add that it has, after all, been his go-to method since the beginning of his career.

“This training camp has been like a mixed martial arts fight. So for me, I don’t have that mindset [of ending the night early]. I’ve never had that mindset in any of my fights – even in my amateur career – that it’s going to be a quick night,” the 35-year-old offered.

The pair’s special rules contest will be timed at four three-minute rounds. The odd-numbered rounds will be contested under Muay Thai rules, while the even-numbered stanzas will be MMA rounds.

Both men stand an equal chance at victory, and only time will tell who succeeds in this hybrid contest on the promotion’s 10-year anniversary event.
