Jarred Brooks’ take on Mansur Malachiev; Brutal yet confident!
Filipino standout Miado comes into the contest riding a four-fight winning streak, most recently taking out the division’s #5-ranked contender Danial Williams. Malachiev, for his part, will be making his promotional debut after an impressive 10-0 run on the elite Russian circuit, making him one of the most exciting signees to ONE in recent memory.

When asked to break down a possible bout against the 31-year-old rising star, Brooks was quick to assume Malachiev would try to impose his top-tier grappling attack, but simply isn’t ready for the titleholder’s championship-level tenacity.

He said, “How will they do against me? Mansur, I think he would try to take me down quick and try to establish that wrestling dominance. He doesn’t realize I’m a dog, and he has never faced anybody that’s a dog. He’s been up against these jiu-jitsu guys, whom he can just get on top of and stomp while they’re trying to do arm bars and knee bars and stuff like that.”

Jarred Brooks was confident that he could match up with Jeremy Miado’s striking
And as for ‘The Jaguar,’ Brooks respects the Filipino’s speedy hands – the same hands that earned him knockouts in each of his last four victories. But the strawweight king believes he has the perfect answer for Miado’s boxing attack, pointing to his own World Title-winning performance over former titleholder Joshua Pacio last December at ONE 164.

He added, “If I get Jeremy Miado, I’ll take him to deep waters, get him to a front headlock, and knee his head off. While he has a fast jab, I have fast counters as well. If you didn’t see that against Joshua Pacio, anytime that he tried to throw something on me, I hit him two to three times.”
