Jarred Brooks took an oath to himself

Jarred Brooks came in hot since arriving in the world’s largest martial arts organization in 2021. He collected three straight victories on his way to claiming the ONE Strawweight MMA World title against Joshua Pacio at the end of 2022. Unfortunately, he failed to keep the belt in his first defense – a rematch against Pacio earlier this year in Qatar. The quick match ended in a disqualification for Brooks, forcing him to surrender his belt to the Filipino fighter.

Now, in an interview with Sportskeeda MMA, Brooks promised himself to deliver a spectacular finish. He said, “I want to go out there and have a spectacular finish. Wow Chatri [Sityodtong], wow the judges, wow everyone and the fans over in Thailand.”

A wow performance is exactly what ‘The Monkey God’ needs to reclaim his former glory.

Jarred Brooks commits to personal evolution

Now fans will see a new version of ‘The Monkey God’ returning next month, following an unfortunate event earlier this year, an unintentional wrong move that cost him his title. With Joshua Pacio currently unavailable because of an injury during training, Jarred Brooks will fight for the interim title belt against Gustavo Balart.

In his recent interview with Sportskeeda MMA, Brooks laid out his plans, stating, “This is my chance to right my mistakes from the past fight. I’ve said this in a couple of interviews and yeah, this is gonna be a new Monkey God. Everything is much better and so on. So yeah, the evolution is gonna be there for sure.”

With the fight just a few weeks away, the question on everyone’s mind is: can Jarred Brooks, who is seeking redemption, defeat Balart, who is riding a four-fight win streak, and win the ONE Interim Strawweight MMA World Championship? Stay tuned for further updates.
