Overall, the three-sport superstar is happy with her development. And she says her coach is too. In an interview with ONE, Stamp shared, “I think my ground game has improved a lot. For this upcoming fight, I went training with my former coach, DJ Jackson, who hasn’t seen me for years.”

“Lil’ Savage” could well take her there, and many say she’ll have the advantage if the fight goes to the mats. But Stamp remains unfazed by these claims, as she accepts that there are certain realities she cannot change.

The former ONE Atomweight World Title challenger said, “I will not argue with her about this. She is right, because I’m a striker. But don’t forget that, in every fight, we have to stand first before hitting the ground.”

“I’m not someone who lets people take me down, throw, or knock me down easily. At least they have to eat a few shots before they can take me down to the ground. And I don’t think Alyse can take many of them.”

My interest in combat sports began watching scripted pro wrestling shows. It was my father who directed me towards combat sports and it wasn’t until the late 2010s that I discovered the world of MMA and the UFC. Like many of you, I too, tuned in for the infamous Nurmagomedov vs. McGregor bout live on October 6, 2018. Being an ardent fan of the UFC (and Dustin ‘The Diamond’ Poirier), I was always looking to have conversations about the same with others. But to my disappointment, I hardly found any followers of the sports to interact with. So I took it upon myself to do my part in popularizing the thrill and the agony behind the purest form of unarmed combat. At EssentiallySports, I try to bring the readers closer to the athletes and focus my coverage on exploring the human side of these martial artists. I’m a musician during my time free from reporting MMA. I operate as the lead vocalist of a rock band that aims to make their mark among the audiences with their original alternative-hard rock songs.
