Women’s shine at ONE Fight Night 20

‘The Queen’ brought her signature forward pressure and delivered some powerful shots, but Todd held her own with counters and precision strikes of her own. Both women kept it close with their back-and-forth as they reached the championship rounds. In the fifth and final round, Phetjeeja scored a crucial knockdown which may have skewed the otherwise close fight to her favor.

Ultimately, it was Phetjeeja who would be crowned as the undisputed queen of the division. Following their match, Todd turned emotional in the middle of the ring as the reality of her final bout sank in. After thanking friends, family, and fans for their support throughout the year, ‘JT’ left her gloves on the ground.

The Brazilian star started a bit slow as she typically does, studying her opponent in the first two rounds. She later picked up the pace though, and ended the fight on a high note. Rodrigues would have her hand raised in victory, and later called out three-sport World Champion, Stamp Fairtex, to return to Muay Thai for a potential blockbuster pairing.
