Unfortunately for Balart, he will not be eligible to win the ONE Interim Strawweight MMA World Championship after he failed to make weight in the official weigh-ins. The main event features Jarred Brooks against Gustavo Balart. Since his ONE Championship debut in 2021, Brooks has made a significant impact, culminating in a ONE Strawweight MMA World Title victory over Joshua Pacio.

However, a controversial disqualification loss due to an illegal slam in their rematch at ONE 166 earlier this year forced him to relinquish the belt. Brooks is now driven by redemption, while ranked #3 Gustavo Balart aims to continue rolling to his fifth straight win by taking out “The Monkey God” in this highly anticipated MMA showdown.

Further adding to the excitement, the co-main event features reigning ONE Women’s Atomweight Submission Grappling World Champion Danielle Kelly making her first title defense against BJJ superstar Mayssa Bastos.

Continuing the trend of impressive card-building, ONE Championship has also scheduled a bantamweight Muay Thai clash between Felipe Lobo and Nabil Anane. The card also boasts many other big names in the world of Muay Thai, MMA, and kickboxing. Don’t miss this action-packed fight event! Set your alarms for this must-watch spectacle, kicking off this Friday, August 2nd at 8 PM EDT and Saturday, August 3rd 8 AM SGT. Stay tuned for further updates.
