The former titleholder certainly respects Erdogan’s elite wrestling skills, but is quick to point out that this is MMA – not grappling:

“I think he’s gonna dictate where the fight is going to happen, but we’re gonna fight. And it’s gonna be a hard fight. It’s going to be a hard three-rounder, and I’m going to look to break his face.”

Ultimately, “The Burmese Python” aims to create a knockdown, drag-out war, which is exactly the type of fight he thrives in.

Rather than gun for an early finish, he hopes to drag Erdogan into deep waters and take him out in the final round:
