Oumar Kane gets a kickboxing fight at ONE Fight Night 23

Kane is scheduled to fight three-division king Anatoly “Sladkiy” Malykhin for the ONE Heavyweight MMA World Championship at ONE 169: Atlanta, scheduled for Friday, November 8, inside the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.

The 32-year-old is on a blistering three-fight win streak and is 5-1 overall in his stint in the world’s largest martial arts organization to earn his shot at the division’s top prize. In his latest outing at ONE Fight Night 13 last August, “Reug Reug” shocked the world by defeating BJJ legend Marcus “Buchecha” Almeida to snap the Brazilian’s undefeated streak at four wins.

Throughout his tenure in ONE, he has showcased his undeniable power and overwhelming ground game honed by years of competing in Senegalese wrestling – a combat sport that utilizes both grappling and striking techniques. For the first time on the global stage, he will go up against a fighter who comes from the same background in Kamara.

Like Kane, “Boucher Ketchup” is a seasoned veteran in Senegalese wrestling and has grown his popularity in the country thanks to his combination of skills and personality. Over the years, he has used his platform to take shots at “Reug Reug” and he will be given an opportunity to let his hands do the talking in the ring instead of the keyboard.

Both men will be playing on even ground though, as they compete under the kickboxing ruleset. Though their ground game is undeniable, they also possess undeniable striking power, which makes this match an intriguing one to follow.

A win for “Reug Reug” will not only shut down an online rivalry, but it will also give him positive momentum heading into his fight with Malykhin. Meanwhile, should Kamara score a massive upset, he could elevate his popularity to unimaginable heights in the global martial arts scene.
