Rodtang “The Iron Man” Jitmuangnon knows a champion when he sees one, and he remains confident that Stamp Fairtex can attain similar success in MMA as she did in kickboxing and Muay Thai on the global stage.

The #1-ranked atomweight contender claimed the ONE Women’s Atomweight World Grand Prix Championship last December, but she fell short in her bid to dethrone longtime divisional queen Angela Lee at ONE X.

Stamp was submitted by the slick Singaporean-American fighter, but Rodtang admits he was impressed by the former ONE Women’s Atomweight Kickboxing and Muay Thai World Champion’s skills.

“[In] the fight with Angela Lee, Stamp coped well with Angela’s various MMA techniques and submission attempts,” the flyweight Muay Thai king said.

“I believe that if she takes time to train harder, she can get the belt from Angela next time.”

Stamp’s career trajectory on the global stage – especially in MMA – has escalated rapidly.

In just over four years, the striking superstar has become a household name in the all-encompassing sport, amassing eight wins from 10 fights and securing the top-ranked spot in the stacked division.

However, Rodtang believes none of those matters for his longtime training partner.

Rodtang, who has eyes locked on a stint in the all-encompassing sport, hopes the loss hasn’t discouraged Stamp.

The Thai superstars have worked closely together at the Fairtex gym in Pattaya, and “The Iron Man” wants to remind his Thai counterpart that defeat is part of the journey.
