Daniel Williams is excited to witness his rival take on Denis Puric

In an interview with Sportskeeda MMA, Williams shared why he is looking forward to this particular matchup in the next card. “Man, I’ve been following his journey [Denis Puric] for quite a while, and yeah, he’s really good,” he said. The 39-year-old Puric arrived in ONE with a mission to challenge “The Iron Man” one day and worked his way to be able to call out the Thai superstar.

In his last appearance, “The Bosnian Menace” picked up his second straight win by edging out a top British striker in Jacob Smith at ONE Fight Night 21 last month. Following his win, he took the opportunity to call out Rodtang and he will finally get his wish next month.

Asked about his prediction for the fight, “Mini T” is optimistic that this is going to be a barnburner because of their styles and what they both want to prove.“It’s going to be a hard one. I’m still tipping with Rodtang for this. But hearing ‘The Bosnian Menace’s’ story, coming from nothing, he’s hungry. So it’ll show,” he said.

Williams anticipates the fight would be a little thought for Rodtang

“They’ve got an almost similar height, similar style, and in those gloves, anything can happen. I’m still tipping Rodtang, but it won’t be too much of a shock if ‘The Bosnian Menace’ wins because this is the fight for him. He’s getting a bit older, and this is the one. He’s going to throw his body on the line.,” Williams said.

He further added, “For Rodtang, I think he won’t be too pressured for this one. I expect him to fight at his best. He’s a bit hard to deal with so I know exactly what he’ll do to get this win.” On paper, it will appear that Rodtang will have the definitive advantage because of his body of work. However, under kickboxing rules, Puric may have a fighting chance.

Thus far in ONE, the flyweight Muay Thai king has only competed twice in kickboxing and taking a win each time. Meanwhile, Puric has not yet showcased his kickboxing skills to the global audience of ONE, but he has found great success in the sport through his illustrious career before joining the world’s largest martial arts organization. At ONE 167, which between Puric’s hunger or Rodtang’s skills will come away with the victory?
