Saemapetch Fairtex will be back in action at ONE Fight Night 19 this weekend, but he’ll also have a vested interest in the outcome of the evening’s main event.

The Thai veteran will return to the ring at the Friday, February 16, spectacle, as he is set to rematch Mohamed Younes Rabah in a bantamweight Muay Thai bout. And in a significant coincidence, the divisional throne will be on the line in the headliner when Jonathan Haggerty meets Felipe Lobo inside Bangkok, Thailand’s Lumpinee Boxing Stadium.

Saemapetch Fairtex feels the fight is open for both fighters
Speaking to ONE Championship, Saemapetch offered his thoughts on the heated World Title tilt. And though he was secure in his prediction of the winner, the Fairtex standout didn’t fully rule out an upset.
“I think Felipe Lobo has no luck with Jonathan Haggerty. Because he is much slower than Jonathan. And he doesn’t have a powerful shot like Jonathan Haggerty,” he said.

“Jonathan has everything – punch, kick, elbow, knee. And his strikes pack a punch. This game will be decided by speed. So, my winner is Jonathan Haggerty.

“Jonathan. But maybe Felipe Lobo can upset him because anything can happen in small gloves.”
Will Saemapetch win his rematch against Rabah?
Saemapetch will have his own business to take care of before he can focus on the main event this Friday, however.

He and Rabah met last December at ONE Fight Night 17, where things didn’t go as planned for him. After coming in on short notice, the debuting Algerian finished Saemapetch in the first round, shocking the world in the process.
Because of this, the #4-ranked bantamweight Muay Thai contender will be out to right the ship by scoring a decisive win in their rematch. And if he does that, Saemapetch has grand plans for his next move in the world’s largest martial arts organization.
“If I can beat Rabah, it depends on ONE to decide who should be my next fight. But I’m ready to fight with everyone. I want a rematch with both Felipe Lobo and Nong-O,” he said.
