“She Looked After Others Before Herself” – ONE Championship Boss Chatri Sityodtong Pens an Emotional Message After the Passing of MMA Prodigy Victoria Lee

The world of MMA was sent into deep mourning at the news of the demise of the noted MMA fighter, Victoria Lee. The just ’18-year-old’ took her last breath on 26 December 2022, which shattered her close ones and fans. Lee was signed to the Asia-based Global Combat promotion, ONE Championship. She had her first professional MMA fight under ONE on 26 February 2021, at just 17 years of age. Lee had also amassed an unbeaten 3-0 record till her demise. She fought for the final time at the event, ONE: Revolution, on 24 September 2021.

The news of her demise was circulated by her elder sister and ONE Atomweight World Champion, Angela Lee. This news deeply saddened a lot of her fans and also the ONE Championship boss, Chatri Sityodtong. The ONE boss gave out his heartfelt condolences to Lee’s family and fans with his endearing words for ‘The Prodigy’.

Chatri Sityodtong had witnessed how Victoria Lee had a tender heart

It was coherent that Sityodtong definitely had an understanding of Lee’s compassionate and caring nature. He revealed his mental state at the news of Lee’s demise, with a heart-filling Facebook post. The first few lines of Sityodtong’s caption talked about how he had known Lee from the time when she was just 11 years of age. Sityodtong had also seen the development of compassion and humane characteristic in the adolescent Lee.

He wrote, “I am heartbroken by Victoria Lee’s passing. I first met Victoria when she was 11 years old. I watched her blossom over the years as a martial artist and a human being. I always remember thinking how wise, thoughtful, and selfless she was beyond her years”.

Sityodtong also lauded the incredible humane characteristics of ‘The Prodigy’ in his next lines.

The ONE Championship president penned, “Victoria had the purest heart of gold and a brilliant mind. She looked after others before herself. She wanted to use her life to help the world. I will always remember Victoria for the beautiful and precious soul that she was”.

Sityodtong ended the first part of his caption with the words, “May you rest in peace, Victoria. We will all miss you.”

‘The Prodigy’ came from a noted family of martial artists which held two ONE Championship world titles currently. Lee’s elder sister, Angela Lee is the current ONE Atomweight World champion. Her elder brother, Christian ‘The Warrior’ Lee, is a two-division champion in ONE, currently reigning over the Lightweight and Middleweight divisions.

Quite understandably, ‘the ONE boss’, Sityodtong, had strong ties with the Lee family. He also conveyed his solace to the entire Lee family and Victoria Lee’s fans in his post. Sityodtong wrote, “I send my love, prayers, strength, and light to Ken, Jewelz, Angela, Christian, Adrian, and all of their loved ones. I am so truly heartbroken for your loss. May God bless you.”

The post from Sityodtong also garnered massive responses from followers who flooded the comments section with condolences and best wishes for Lee in her afterlife.
