Superbon Singha Mawynn Gets His Revenge and Holds Onto His Featherweight Belt in a Rematch Against Marat Grigorian at ONE X

The 10-year-anniversary show, ONE X at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, highlighted various martial arts and was one of the biggest combat sports cards ever. The fully packed, three-card event had exciting and competitive fights from start to finish.

The first fight of the main card was a Featherweight Kickboxing World Championship bout; The World Champion Superbon Singha Mawynn entered the ONE Circle to defend his gold against Marat Grigorian.

The Singha Mawynn Muay Thai fighter took his revenge against the Hemmers Gym representative and successfully defended his belt; The fight went to the judges’ scorecard.

The bout was very close. However, Superbon was relentless and didn’t give any chance to the challenger. Though in the third round the Armenian fighter came strong, it appeared Superbon took control later in the round.

Marat Grigorian and Superbon history before ONE: X

The fighter from Armenia wanted to achieve the ONE Kickboxing World Champion status from day one at the Home of Martial Arts. Even ahead of the bout, he had suggested that he had won multiple championships, but he wants to get his hand on the biggest Kickboxing Title, i.e. ONE World Championship.

The two fighters are no strangers to each other, as they have already fought in 2018. In their first bout, the challenger had knocked out the Thai fighter in under 30 seconds of the bout. Hence, the challenger was high on confidence coming into this bout. The challenger even reminded the champion of the loss ahead of the fight.

However, the champion was the better athlete this time around and got the victory.

Earlier in the night, the Belarusian kickboxer Chingiz Allazov won the Featherweight Kickboxing World Grand Prix final to become the possible next challenger for Superbon. Allazov defeated the Thai fighter, Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong.
