Superlek Kiatmoo9 breaks down his post-fight celebration along with an unexpected callout

His aggression and pressure right from the opening bell paid off, and by the second round, “Samingpri” was running for dear life, which caused the referee to bring an end to the match. “The Kicking Machine” celebrated his victory with an interesting dance inside the ring, and he explained why in his post-fight interview.

“My plan was just to finish the fight by knockout or TKO, and it doesn’t matter. A knee route is ok, too. I just wanted to finish the fight beautifully and show the people the art of Muay Thai,” Superlek said. “That celebration truly came from the happiness that I felt in my heart. I was really relieved that I wasn’t a disappointment to any fans that have come to support me. I’m really happy that they are here or they’re watching on TV, and they could watch me being able to defeat the opponent like that.”

When it comes to what’s next for “The Kicking Machine” after this latest victory, plans may be up in the air. As the top contender in the ONE Flyweight Muay Thai division, he could confidently look to challenge current king Rodtang Jitmuangnon.

He also took time to quash rumors that have circulated relating to his interest in facing “The General” coming from a want to find revenge for Nong-O Hama, who the Brit striking star beat to claim the Bantamweight Muay Thai crown in April.

“My plan is to keep my belt, keep being the champion of my division and also I would like more and more opportunities to be able to show people my Muay Thai skills or my martial arts skills,” Superlek said. “No, not at all for the revenge of Nong-O. The coveted scrap between Lennox Lewis and Mike Tyson in 2002 was when I realized the passion for combat sports within my family. My interest in combat sports began watching scripted pro wrestling shows. It was my father who directed me towards combat sports and it wasn’t until the late 2010s that I discovered the world of MMA and the UFC. Like many of you, I too, tuned in for the infamous Nurmagomedov vs. McGregor bout live on October 6, 2018. Being an ardent fan of the UFC (and Dustin ‘The Diamond’ Poirier), I was always looking to have conversations about the same with others. But to my disappointment, I hardly found any followers of the sports to interact with. So I took it upon myself to do my part in popularizing the thrill and the agony behind the purest form of unarmed combat. At EssentiallySports, I try to bring the readers closer to the athletes and focus my coverage on exploring the human side of these martial artists. I’m a musician during my time free from reporting MMA. I operate as the lead vocalist of a rock band that aims to make their mark among the audiences with their original alternative-hard rock songs.
