As the reigning ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World Champion, Superlek has done plenty to establish himself as an icon of both kickboxing and Muay Thai, but he knows that the blockbuster opportunity ahead of him marks something special. Superlek’s gameplan against Haggerty
For ‘The Kicking Machine’, though, he feels an added responsibility to showcase his country’s centuries-old art in front of American fans: “I’m going to the U.S. with the position as Thailand’s representative. It’s important to me to do my best – to not disappoint the Thai fans and to showcase Muay Thai skills in the U.S.”
While Superlek admits to feeling some added pressure, he says that won’t inhibit his performance. Quite the opposite, he plans to play a much more aggressive and riskier game in an effort to put on an electrifying performance. That means he’s willing to risk being knocked out for the first time in his 171-fight professional career.
Superlek added: “It’ll be explosive. I’ll go all out in this fight. It’ll be exciting, and you won’t be disappointed! I’ve always been a technical fighter, I’ve never been knocked out in my career, but I’ll go all out this time.”
