Superlek analyzes leg kicks on Segawa before facing Jonathan Haggerty

At ONE 165 held in Tokyo last January, Superlek Kiatmoo9 lived up to his nickname” The Kicking Machine” by successfully defending his ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World Championship in the main event. Facing debuting Japanese star Takeru Segawa, Superlek dominated the fight by systematically dismantling his opponent’s leg, which proved to be a key factor in his victory.

In an Instagram reel, ONE Championship shared a clip of Superlek Kiatmoo9 analyzing his fight against Takeru Segawa. The clip features a photo of Segawa’s leg after the fight, which looks badly bruised and swollen.

Superlek said, “It looks like it burns. I was very surprised he was still standing at the end because, with every kick I threw, he did not defend any of them. Some may be wondering why Takeru was not defending himself. But don’t forget, Takeru’s lead leg is his left leg. He has to step in to punch me. He can’t protect himself whenever he steps in; he sacrifices his defense to attack me.”

Shortly after the fight, Takeru Segawa himself confirmed his medical condition in a social media post following his bout with “The Kicking Machine.”

At ONE 165, Superlek Kiatmoo9 defended his world title against K-1 legend Takeru Segawa. While the first round featured an exchange of blows, the fight became increasingly one-sided as Superlek utilized frequent leg kicks within his combos, progressively damaging Segawa’s left leg throughout the match. The severity of the damage was evident in a post-fight Instagram photo by Takeru Segawa, who was reportedly rushed to a local hospital after the bout.

“Superlek was really strong,” Segawa wrote on Instagram. “I tore a muscle in my thigh and can’t even walk now. can’t think of anything. I will live my life with a positive outlook.” A tough debut for the promising fighter, but fans are now eager to see him back in action soon.
