She is a former ONE Women’s Atomweight Muay Thai and Kickboxing World Champion, as well as the ONE Women’s Atomweight World Grand Prix Champion, showing unprecedented success across both MMA and the striking arts. The mixed rules contest against the French-Algerian striking queen, then, makes perfect sense.

Not only does it give the atomweight star a chance to showcase both her striking and grappling, but it also presents the opportunity to face one of the world’s top pound-for-pound knockout artists.

Stamp Fairtex wanted a mixed rules bout and was delighted to hear about the matchup

Stamp says she has been targeting a mixed rules fight ever since she shared the card with ONE’s first such contest in March 2022 at ONE X.

She explained how this fight came together:

“The day I fought with Angela Lee was the same day Rodtang fought with Demetrious. Chatri [Sityodtong, ONE Chairman and CEO], came to talk with me, and I told him that I was willing to take part in this kind of special fight. What I asked for came true. This is a new challenge for me, and it will push me to the limit.”

“[When I got the offer], I was practicing as usual at that time. [My manager] walked up to me and said, ‘You have to fight [Meksen] in MMA and Muay Thai rules.’ And I replied, ‘Really?”

“I was so excited because I know this will be one of the most important fights in my life. It will also bring me more followers.”

So I took it upon myself to do my part in popularizing the thrill and the agony behind the purest form of unarmed combat. At EssentiallySports, I try to bring the readers closer to the athletes and focus my coverage on exploring the human side of these martial artists. I’m a musician during my time free from reporting MMA. I operate as the lead vocalist of a rock band that aims to make their mark among the audiences with their original alternative-hard rock songs.
