South Korean martial artist Oh “Spider” Taek is determined to present his sensational finishing abilities inside the ONE Circle when he returns to action at ONE Fight Night 8 on Prime Video. That evening, the Extreme Combat standout takes on unbeaten Russian warrior Akbar Adullaev in an interesting featherweight MMA showdown inside the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

Oh made his promotional bow at ONE on Prime Video 2: Xiong vs. Lee III in October last year against Japanese veteran Ryogo “Kaitai” Takashi in the very same venue. But while “Spider” was pleased with the win, he would have preferred to maintain his high finishing rate – which stood at 92 percent.

So when Oh squares off this week, he’s hoping to add the Russian’s name to the list of fighters he has knocked out or submitted since he became a professional in January 2014. Oh told ONE Championship, “This time, my goal is to stand out. I haven’t shown you everything yet, so please pay attention.”

“I think grappling and wrestling are also technically worth trying. So, I want to finish this match confidently by mixing strikes and ground through my specialty, all-around technique. That’s what I aim for.”

Going into that bout, Oh had scored a finish in all but one of his professional victories – earning five submissions and two knockouts – so registering a split-decision win never sat comfortably in his mind.

Moreover, four of his last six bouts were wrapped inside the opening stanza. A testament to his clear abilities. However, the South Korean martial artist knows he has another chance to make another impression, and he hopes to make the most of it when he steps inside the Circle.

He said, “I don’t think I was very impressive in my last match, so I guess I need to make it right this time. The ideal result would be winning by KO or submission, not by decision.”
