Filipino MMA star Jeremy “The Jaguar” Miado is ready to definitively prove he belongs among the strawweight division’s elite. This Friday, November 3, in the opening bout of ONE Fight Night 16: Haggerty vs. Andrade on Prime Video, the 30-year-old fan favorite will square off with compatriot Lito “Thunder Kid” Adiwang in a much-anticipated rematch.

The Filipino standouts will throw down live in North American primetime from the iconic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. Miado and Adiwang first clashed nearly 21 months ago in a bout that was shaping up to be an unforgettable war. But midway through the second round, “Thunder Kid” suffered a devastating knee injury to bring a premature end to the contest.

Since then, “The Jaguar” scored an epic knockout of former World Title challenger Danial Williams, but stumbled against current #5-ranked strawweight MMA contender Mansur Malachiev.

Now just hours away from his second meeting with Adiwang, he believes a win at ONE Fight Night 16 could plant him in the division’s top five and move him significantly closer to a shot at 26 pounds of gold. He said, “I just really want to be in the top five. This is the perfect chance for me to prove that I deserve to be in the mix of contenders.”

Given how their first fight ended, Miado has heard his fair share of critics claiming that he didn’t really earn the victory over Adiwang. Even though it’s marked as a TKO win on his record, the bout was closely contested before the finish, with each man finding his own moments of success.

“Also there are a lot of people saying that I only won because Lito got injured. I really don’t have a problem with it, that’s their opinion. But as for me, I just want to win, get a ranked opponent, move into the top five, and become a World Title challenger.”
