Denice Zamboanga will not hold back against Stamp Fairtex

While they spent countless hours honing their skills together at the famed Fairtex Training Center in the past, the match next month will mark the first time they will officially meet in competition. Speaking to ONE in an interview, the Filipina star admitted that while she doesn’t have a clear call on who will win.

She assured fans of her full commitment to overcoming the three-sport champ. “I don’t really want to give any prediction. Other than I’ll do everything to get the belt home to the Philippines. I respect Stamp. She’s such a good fighter, and I wouldn’t want to get ahead of myself,” she said.

Stamp has proven that she is more than just a striker. The former atomweight kickboxing and Muay Thai queen has been electric since moving to MMA, and she successfully claimed the vacant World Title against Ham Seo Hee in her latest ONE Championship outing last September.

Zamboanga anticipating a strategic battle of versatility

Along with utilizing her dangerous stand-up game, Stamp has showcased an evolved grappling skill set, too. She even earned victory in the 2021 ONE Women’s MMA World Grand Prix by submitting Commonwealth Wrestling Gold Medalist Ritu Phogat in the final match.

For her part, Zamboanga has used her ground pressure to dominate opponents since arriving in the world’s largest martial arts organization in 2019.
The 27-year-old has also shown she has the reserves to go the distance, with four of her five wins coming from the judges’ scorecards.

Looking ahead to her match with Stamp, Zamboanga says that the watching world should be prepared for a long fight, as the friends-turned-rivals will most likely spend time comparing strengths. “I expect the fight to start slow as we size each other up, and then the action will pick up from there,” she said.
