Georges St-Pierre and Ben Askren Become the Latest Addition to ONE Championship’s The Apprentice

ONE Championship has brought a new flavor to the world of mixed martial arts. Continuing along the same lines, the Singapore-based promotion also announced its own version of the famous reality TV show, The Apprentice. The show has now received a major boost with the addition of big names such as Georges St-Pierre and Ben Askren.

ONE Championship CEO Chatri Sityodtong announced the latest additions to the cast of the show via social media. The three names that Chatri announced were Renzo Gracie, Ben Askren, and Georges St-Pierre. Both Renzo Gracie and Ben Askren have competed formerly under the ONE Championship banner. ‘Funky’ even held the welterweight belt in the promotion.

The three will join the six other stars that had already been announced earlier. The list includes Brandon Vera, Demetrious Johnson, Xiong Jing Nan, Angela Lee, Ritu Phogat, and Sage Northcutt. The addition of renowned names such as Georges St-Pierre will play its part in uplifting the popularity of the show.

The Apprentice is an American reality television show that judges the business skills of the contestants. Incumbent US President Donald Trump has hosted a number of seasons of the American version of the show. However, for this special edition, ONE Championship CEO Chatri Sityodtong will also take up the responsibility of being the host.

Sixteen contestants from around the world will take part in the show. They will compete for a US$250,000 job at ONE Championship and the winner will work under Sityodtong himself. ONE Championship is making the show via its production team at ONE Studios and is licensed under MGM Television.

Chatri, who holds a business degree from Harward, has promised that this edition will be the toughest one in history. The show has officially kicked off production earlier this week. Chatri’s team sat along with Refinery Media to shortlist the sixteen contestants for the show out of the huge number of applications that they had received.

Chatri has also promised that he will mentor the ‘ONE’ that comes out of the show. He will also share the lessons that he has learned while building a billion-dollar startup from scratch.
