ONE Championship superstar Christian “The Warrior” Lee will move up a division to challenge ONE Welterweight World Champion Kiamrian “Brazen” Abbasov for his divisional throne at ONE on Prime Video 4 on Friday, November 18. 

Should he be successful in this upcoming challenge, the ONE Lightweight World Champion will etch his name into the record books as the youngest two-division MMA World Champion in history, and there’s every chance he’ll do just that.

The 24-year-old has been nothing short of immense since debuting in the Singapore-based promotion in 2015. 

He has accumulated 16 wins and holds the accolade for most finishes inside the ONE Circle.

Lee defeated several top names in the featherweight division before embarking on a new journey at lightweight in 2019, where he has dominated ever since. 

He snagged the lightweight crown off Japanese mixed martial arts legend Shinya Aoki in his first appearance at 170lbs before going on to win the ONE Lightweight World Grand Prix Championship that same year.

The Singaporean-America star continued his dominant run by defending his throne with back-to-back first-round knockouts against Iuri Lapicus and Timofey Nastyukhin in his next two outings. 

And though he suffered a brief hiccup last year when he lost the belt to Ok Rae Yoon, he regained his spot atop the stacked lightweight division with a decisive TKO win over the South Korean star when they rematched in the main event of ONE 160 this past August.

Now back to his best, “The Warrior” will be highly motivated to snatch his second strap when he takes on Abbasov at ONE on Prime Video 4, but he will have to be wise in attack against the Kyrgyz fighter.

Why Kiamrian Abbasov is a tough challenge for Lee

“Brazen” has ripped through the welterweight division. He submitted former ONE World Title challenger Agilan “Alligator” Thani, knocked out Japanese MMA icon Yushin “Thunder” Okami, and then dethroned Zebaztian “The Bandit” Kadestam to claim the ONE Welterweight World Championship in October 2019.

He further displayed his dominance in the 185lbs weight class by successfully defending his World Title against then-undefeated challenger James Nakashima, scoring a fourth-round TKO win against the American in 2020.

Most recently, Abbasov failed in his quest to secure two-division World Champion status when he tapped to an arm-triangle choke against ONE Middleweight World Champion Reinier “The Dutch Knight” de Ridder in February.
