On Friday, June 7, inside the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand, ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Champion Rodtang “The Iron Man” Jitmuangnon is set to face Denis “The Bosnian Menace” Puric in kickboxing action, and Japanese fan favorite Itsuki “Android 18” Hirata will look to get back on the winning track against Victoria “Vick” Souza.

Rodtang vs. Puric is set to happen at ONE soon

After getting sidelined by injuries, Rodtang is finally set to return to action and continue his rise in the flyweight kickboxing ranks. In his last outing, at ONE Friday Fights 34 last September, “The Iron Man” suffered his first defeat in ONE striking competition courtesy of Superlek Kiatmoo9.

The pair were set to compete for Rodtang’s Muay Thai crown, but the challenger failed to make the contracted weight, so they clashed at catchweight. Now set for his comeback, the Jitmuangnon standout will look to re-establish himself as one of the most dangerous strikers on the ONE Championship roster by taking out a rising contender in Puric.

“The Bosnian Menace” is riding high on a two-fight winning streak in Muay Thai, so he’ll have momentum on his side. At ONE Fight Night 17 last December, he took out Vietnamese star Nguyen Tran Duy Nhat in the second round, and he followed that with a huge unanimous decision victory over Jacob Smith last month.

Following his latest win, the Soi Dogs MMA representative called for a fight against Rodtang in any discipline, and he now gets his wish in what is expected to be a kickboxing firefight between two aggressive warriors.

Upcoming matches at ONE 167:

Elsewhere on the card, Hirata will be eager to bounce back after hitting a rough patch in her career. Fans began to notice “Android 18” because of her striking resemblance to the popular anime character of the same name, but it didn’t take long for them to note her skills after she amassed four impressive wins in a row.

However, the Japanese star has lost three of her last four outings, including back-to-back losses to former World Title contenders Ham Seo Hee and Ayaka Miura, respectively. She will be hoping to showcase her improvements against the always-tough Souza, who will be looking for her second win in ONE against Hirata at ONE 167.

The thrilling event will be headlined by Stamp Fairtex defending her ONE Women’s Atomweight MMA World Title against friend and former teammate Denice “The Menace” Zamboanga. In the co-main event, Tawanchai PK Saenchai will defend his ONE Featherweight Muay Thai World Championship against “Smokin’” Jo Nattawut. More fights are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
