The Chloe Kim reign has begun. The 21-year-old has once again created history and grabbed the Halfpipe Gold Medal with a phenomenal score! The athlete has previously mentioned how she would compete this time on her own terms, and so she did. She did everything on her own and went out there to dominate.

The finals of the halfpipe were held on Thursday, February 10. Kim had already qualified with the top score and now she has grabbed the Gold Medal. However, this one was not a particularly easy one.

Snowboarding queen – Chloe Kim

Before her finals, Chloe Kim had mentioned that she was excited and hyped for her performance. After 2018, Kim is much better equipped to handle the spotlight; with the pressure that comes with it.

She went into the finals with a clear headspace, ready to nail the performance. And she sure did! It was during her very first run that she secured the highest score with 94 points. It was almost clear that there was no beating her.

But Kim still went ahead and performed the next 2 runs. During her 2nd run, Kim wanted to try something new. It didn’t turn out too well for her as she faltered. She didn’t have a good experience and posted via her Instagram story how her b**t hurt. However, she didn’t complain and took it lightly.

“Ow my bu*t,” posted Chloe.? It’s clear that the post is meant to be taken in jest as she was clearly in high spirits after her amazing first run.

She again went ahead and performed her 3rd run, although she already had her hands on the gold. This itself shows the amount of supremacy that Chloe Kim currently holds on the halfpipe. She is the only woman to win two back-to-back halfpipe golds.

Even after she was hurt and failed to perform a trick, she still didn’t step back. She went ahead and completed her 3rd run. Kim grabbed the gold medal with pride in her heart, as she proved herself worthy of it yet again.

Winning on her own terms

Back in 2018, when she won the gold medal, Chloe was just 17 years old at the time. She wasn’t prepared to handle all the pressure and stress that came with it and it took a toll on her.
