Sunday’s Mzansi Super League match between Paarl Rocks and Nelson Mandela Bay Giants started with one of the most hilarious comment even made on a cricket field. Faf du Plessis had a witty reply when he asked the changes made to the team.
Coming into the match, the Rocks and Bay Giants were playing for a place in the finals directly. Paarl Rocks captain Faf du Plessis lost the toss, and learned that his team would be batting first. He had made one forced change to his side after batsman Hardus Viljoen was getting married.

Viljoen married Rhemi Rynners, who happens to be du Plessis’ sister. When it was his turn to speak to the broadcaster about his team selection, du Plessis had a witty comment up his sleeve.
“Hardus Viljoen not playing today because he’s lying in bed with my sister as they got married yesterday,” he said.
A video clip in which du Plessis made the comment was obtained from Twitter.

Viljoen’s absence did not seem to have hurt Paar Rocks, who went on to seal a 12irun victory. The victory ensured that the Rocks will finish the league stage on top of the table. This also means that they will be playing the finals on their home ground.
