Game of Thrones actor Krysten Coombs clinched his dream at Tokyo Paralympics 2020 by winning the bronze medal. Great Britain’s para-athlete Coombs competes in the badminton event. Coombs made a cameo appearance in the famous TV series ‘Game of Thrones’.

Krysten’s journey from GOT to Tokyo Paralympics 2020

Krysten Coombs has been competing in SH6 badminton championships for quite a while now. The para-athlete from Great Britain clinched the European Championship gold medal back in 2008. In 2015 too, Coombs bagged the gold medal at the world championships.

Coombs’s CV looks mighty impressive as he is also a part-time actor. Seven years ago, he was featured in the famous ‘Game of Throne’ series. In the season four episode two, he appeared in a reenactment of the War of the Kings. Coombs was part of King Joffery’s wedding scene. The para-athlete had dressed up as Balon Greyjoy and rode a Kraken.

Coombs again felt like a king at the mega-quadrennial game as he reached the podium. He defeated Brazilian para-athlete Vitor Goncalves Tavares 2-1 in Tokyo to win the bronze medal in the badminton singles SH6 event. Indian para-athlete Krishna Nagar clinched the gold medal. Nagar outperformed Hong Kong’s Chu Man Kai in a 43 minute encounter.

Coombs takes inspiration from GOT’s Peter Dinklage

Krysten has embraced his disability and is now an Paralympic champion. He takes inspiration from Peter Dinklage, who played the role of Tyrion Lannister. Peter himself is also a person of short stature, albeit he is one of the most appreciated actors in the world.

Notably, Peter has inspired many people around the world with his achievements. Coombs aims to do the same, as he wants to inspire kids with achondroplasia to dream of success over their disability.
