Patrick Mouratoglou and Serena Williams have developed a unique relationship over the years. Once rumored to be dating, the coach pupil duo has stuck along and achieved wonders together in many tournaments.

Needless to say, the two take each other’s advice on key matters. While it’ll be extremely normal for Serena to take advice from Patrick as he is her coach, the dynamic also works the other way round. Patrick revealed that his latest endeavor with the Ultimate Tennis Showdown will feature key insights by Serena Williams.

This event is groundbreaking as it will take place in Paris amidst the coronavirus pandemic. It’s an ambitious event featuring top tennis players. The conduct will be possible after following stringent social distancing rules.

Patrick revealed that Serena gave some crucial advice to him. Like always, he kept an open ear for her important expert comments.

“Before I started and I had this idea, I called her and said this is what I’m going to do. First of all, she’s always super supportive to what I’m doing, extremely nice. We have a very good relationship, so she is supporting. She said you have to involve women. I said yeah but I don’t have to involve women in UTS 1, I’ll do it later. She said no, you have to involve women at UTS 1. And then she gave me some great ideas of rules, and that I added.”

“The first thing she told me, you have such an entrepreneur mind, it’s unbelievable. She said it looks fun, it looks amazing. And then she gave me some more advice, so she was into it. When someone starts to have ideas or things I should do with my format, it means that she is buying it. So, for me she is in.”

It’s great to see the two combining their shared knowledge for this noble initiative. Tennis fans around the world are waiting for the game to begin. This just gives them a chance to enjoy tennis without the Grand Slams completely returning.
