Bill Belichick a big fan of Cam Newton

It was reported earlier today that Bill Belichick is a major supporter of Cam Newton. Belichick reportedly ‘has done nothing but rave’ about Newton. The report also added that Belichick is a huge proponent of bringing Cam Newton back to New England next season, and it wouldn’t be a shock to see the former Carolina Panthers man return next year.

Newton himself has made his desire to return to the Patriots quite clear. Earlier this week, Newton was a guest on the ‘I AM ATHLETE’ podcast. He noted that he wants to come back to the team, primarily because he is looking for some consistency at this stage of his career.

He said, “Yes, hell yes, I’m getting tired of changing, bro. I’m getting to a point in my career where I know way more than I knew, last year.”

His comments will come as a welcome sight to the Patriots’ front office, who will have been instructed by Belichick to bring Newton back at all costs for the next campaign.

Newton struggled to get adjusted to life with the Patriots. It appeared that Belichick was setting Cam up for many of the plays that he used to run when he had Tom Brady. But Brady and Newton are very different types of quarterbacks. Newton relies on his speed and athleticism; Brady uses his brilliant knowledge of the game to create opportunities for himself.

Will Cam Newton return to the franchise next season? It appears as though both sides want to continue working together. And Belichick may have some big plans for Cam going into next season.

After the Patriots’ disappointing season, they will want to show that they are not done just because Tom Brady left. Hence, a return to the playoffs will be their primary goal.
