Pewdiepie Does ‘Reverse Face Reveal’ to ‘Stay Relevant’

The internet’s most beloved YouTuber is all set to make a ‘big change’ to his channel. PewDiePie took a two-week break from content creation, and before he left, he teased that a ‘big reveal’ was imminent. With his recent return, he is already at it and has dropped the big announcement. Of course, everyone was excited about what it was going to be, and the announcement did sweep us off our feet.

So, the king of YouTube decided to do a ‘Reverse Face Reveal’, which is basically him announcing that he will no longer show his face in his content and will rather use an avatar. Now, this is something that a lot of current content creators on the platform have been doing.

Adding a sense of mystery to one’s identity has proven to be a huge contributing factor to the popularity of streamers who hide their face. Pewds agrees that it has worked for streamers like Corpse Husband and Dream.

In the video, PewDiePie jokes that the only way to stay relevant at this point is to stay hidden behind an avatar.

“I’ve realized that the only way for me to stay relevant at this point… it’s necessary for me to do this… Corpse Husband… no face cam, no face reveal, massively popular. Dream… no face cam, no face reveal, massively popular.”

PewDiePie is yet to finalize what his avatar is going to be

Having made this announcement in the video, he asks his fans to take a long look at his face before he hides it for good. Right in the middle of the video. While he is yet to decide what his avatar should look like, he makes it clear that it certainly will not be this one:
