Peyton Manning has many followers, captured his choice of beverage a can of ‘Bud Light’, and stirred up some trouble on social media. The reason? Bud Light had recently partnered with a trans influencer, Dylan Mulvaney, but the legendary quarterback, was spotted sipping a Bud Light, Peyton seemed unfazed by the boycott campaign against the beer brand, which has faced criticism for partnering with a trans influencer. This angered some conservative and anti-trans groups, who urged a boycott of Bud Light and other Anheuser-Busch products.

Why do fans backlash against Bud Light?

Bud Light’s sparked a backlash that threatens to spill over into the NFL, as the beer brand sent Mulvaney a can of beer with rainbow colors for Pride Month, provoking the ire of some conservative and anti-trans groups. NFL fans & people around the country launched a boycott campaign against Bud Light and other Anheuser-Busch products and got some celebrity support from Kid Rock and Travis Tritt, who publicly denounced the brand.

Nonetheless, the controversy also cast a shadow over the NFL Draft, which Bud Light sponsored, as some fans expressed their desire to shun the brand. The boycott has taken a toll on Bud Light’s sales and market share, as well as Anheuser-Busch’s stock price, which has plummeted by $4-5 billion since March 31, per reports.
