Claressa Shields is all set to make her move from boxing to MMA. The former world boxing champion will be making her MMA debut on Thursday against Britney Elkin. Since Shields announced her desire to get into MMA, people from all around the world have praised the fighter.

Now joining the list is none other than the co-owner of PFL and award-winning artist, Wiz Khalifa. During a recent interview, Khalifa was asked to share his views on Shields’s debut. Khalifa was full of praise for the fighter and lauded her for making this move.
” I love it, She’s a real fighter, she’s talented, she’s got hands of course but to go into MMA and you know learn different techniques and to apply that same tenacity, she’s gonna have some strong points.

“When she gets in there, she’s gonna be able to execute just based on her athleticism. She was an Olympic gold medalist so when she comes in she’s coming in hard.”
While many fighters have made a switch from MMA to boxing. Hardly any have ever gone from boxing to MMA. Khalifa applauded ‘T-Rex’ for that and is eager to watch her fight.
Wiz Khalifa believes many others will follow Claressa Shields and make a move to MMA
Khalifa believes that MMA is becoming more popular day by day and will attract many other fighters. He said, “Everybody is loving MMA. There’s a lot of it when there’s time to cross over. You can do one thing, but it’s a different world. It’s fun. Everybody loves it.”

While boxing will always have its space in the combat sports world. MMA is becoming extremely popular among fans due to the level of excitement it brings. Most people believe that as fans migrate towards MMA, many fighters will also do the same.
Claressa Shields is one of the biggest names in boxing, and her moving into MMA shows that. However, it is not going to be easy to make the switch for anyone including Shields. Still, Shields is a former champion and we as fans can’t wait to see her make her MMA debut.
