Phil Mickelson is one of the most prominent players on the PGA Tour. The 51-year-old Mickelson turned pro in 1992. Since then, he has been a consistent golfer on Tour with 45 PGA Tour wins and six major championships. Furthermore, he also became the oldest player to win a major tournament earlier this year.

Yesterday, caddie network, a well-known Twitter account among golf fans, posted a Tweet asking, My most treasured golf possession is ________.

Meanwhile, Phil Mickelson came across this tweet and revealed his treasured golf possession in swag. He said, “At the moment, I will go with THE WANNAMAKER.” 

Wannamaker is a trophy awarded to the PGA Championship winner. And Phil had won this prestigious event at Ocean course Kiawah Island in May 2021.

Furthermore, this was his sixth major championship win and his first since 2013. However, this was also the only win and the only top-10 finish Mickelson had in the 2020-21 PGA Tour season.

Meanwhile, the 51-year-old fan favorite went into the final round of the PGA Championship with a one-shot lead and maintained it throughout the ultimate day, and eventually won it by two strokes.

Everyone present at the Ocean Course wanted Phil to win, and the fans went berserk on the 18th green when he sealed the trophy. With this victory, Phil became the oldest player to win a major championship history. 

And since then, Mickelson has been having fun and has been showing off his Wannamaker trophy wherever possible. Moreover, he said ‘at the moment‘ because he will have to return the trophy during the 2022 PGA Championship and try to earn it back in the event.
