Phil Mickelson recently won the Charles Schwab Cup Championship on the PGA Tour Champions. Moreover, with his fourth victory in six starts, he has now equaled the record with Jack Nicklaus. However, since he mostly competed on the PGA Tour, he couldn’t compete in many events on the Champions Tour. Hence, Mickelson failed to win the Schwab Cup title even after winning three events this season.

Notably, German golfer Bernhard Langer won the Schwab Cup title, thanks to his consistent performance throughout the season. However, Jim Furyk gave him a tough fight but sadly ended up just a few points short. The 64-year-old Langer won his sixth Schwab Cup title in his Champions Tour career.

Phil Mickelson solidifies his place in the PGA Tour Champions money list
Phil Mickelson has had an incredible run at the Champions Tour this season. He has won four events in just six starts and has equaled the record for the fastest four-wins on the Senior Tour. Moreover, along with wins, he made some incredible gains in the earnings list as well.
Not to forget, on the Champions Tour, earnings are converted into points. Hence, Phil finished 12th in the Schwab Cup standings even after playing only six events.

Meanwhile, GolfDigest made a tweet where they broke down his total earnings. Phil Mickelson’s total earnings on the PGA Tour Champions are $1,515,543. Hence, he made $252,591 per start, $79,765 per round, $4,431 per hole, and $1,178 per shot. What makes this even more incredible is that he achieved these numbers in just six starts.

Phil Mickelson had a close win at the Charles Schwab Cup Championship in Phoenix Country Club. Mickelson was co-leading the event with Jim Furyk after round one. Initially, it looked like Furyk might just surpass Mickelson as he was leading the field going into the final round. However, Mickelson played some incredible golf and carded -6 on the final day and -19 for the event and won it by a stroke.
