Michael Phelps is the most decorated Olympian of all time. He hung up his swimming journey following the 2016 Rio Olympics. However, after that, Phelps embarked on a new journey, as he desired to become a scratch golfer. And this journey has taken him around the golf world, from the 16th tee at Augusta National during the Tiger’s magical victory to Caves Valley Golf Club, where Phelps was seen practicing along with the players ahead of the 2021 BMW Championship.

Michael Phelps had a handicap of 12. But he has used his retirement to get his 12 handicap in single digits. However, the most impressive thing about Phelps is something else and was visible during his pro-am round on Wednesday at the BMW Championship.

He has stamped the 28-star on his 60-degree wedge. And this probably gives him a feeling of true GOAT after a poor shot. He probably has it on his wedge as a reminder after a missed approach or shanked chip.

Meanwhile, this time Phelps had a practice round with Jordan Spieth ahead of the BMW Championship. Spieth and Phelps had a blast out there at the Caves Valley Golf Club. However, the temperatures reached 95 on Wednesday, and it took over five hours for them to complete the 18 holes. Spieth admitted he picks Phelps’ brain on the mental side of things. And that’s what he has been working on a lot in the last few years.

And maybe that’s why he has been able to help players like Tiger Woods and Jon Rahm. Even though Phelps is probably 1/100th of the golfer as they are. But what separates Phelps from the rest is his mentality. He is untouchable and unflappable, and he knows it and wants to help other athletes with their mental game.
