He was the champion of the 2015 PLAYERS Championship. However, he is not even on the field of the tournament in 2022. The turn of events has left Rickie Fowler disheartened.
“It will su*k,” the 33-year-old said as he knew he won’t be playing at the TPC Sawgrass this week. Fowler may have missed other PGA events since he joined the Tour in 2010; however, he sure hasn’t missed the PLAYERS ever since then. But, the chances of him playing at the event are less this week as he is only the 7th alternative.

According to the golfer, his form was not good, and it is not a good feeling that everyone would want to experience. “Everyone goes through tough or low points in this game. He was three strokes behind the leading Sergio Garcia before the 13th hole of the final round. However, his birdies at the No. 13 and 15 and the eagle at the 14th made his way up on the leaderboard. Fowler kept continuing the streak and birdied the 17thand 18th holes.
His incredible game made him tie with Sergio Garcia and Kevin Kisner for the first place. Even in the playoffs, the now 33-year-old couldn’t stop himself from shooting birdies and finally won the Championship.

Now, perhaps only a miracle would help him earn a spot at the tournament this time, considering he is the 7th alternate.
