The Wells Fargo Championship has been garnering all the attention on the PGA Tour. The world’s best golfers are at Quail Hollow Club for one of the most exciting events on the calendar, and it’s lining up for an exciting finish this year. But is there any chance of the weather playing spoilsport in Charlotte, come Sunday?

The Quail Hollow Club is a difficult layout to master, and the wrath of the Charlotte winds will make it even more challenging. The players endured swift winds during the first two rounds and had to adjust their shots accordingly.

Phil Mickelson did a good job with it in Round 1, but he failed to replicate a similar performance in the subsequent round. Rory McIlroy displayed tremendous striking on Friday and wonderfully faded his shots into the wind. 

However, a lot of it depends on the final round and how the players perform under pressure. Here’s how the weather is predicted in Charlotte on Sunday.

2021 Wells Fargo Championship: Weather forecast for the final round

Round 4 is expected to take place amid pleasant conditions with the wind not playing too much of a hindrance. Sunny weather is expected with highs reaching 81°. There’s hardly any chance of rain so that is indeed a good sign for the fans at Quail Hollow Club

The possibility of rain precipitation is just 4% and there’s no chance of a thunderstorm, reports Accuweather. Players in the morning wave will see wind gushes at 10 mph which is fairly manageable.

The afternoon wave is when the sun will start scorching from above. The 32% humidity rate will bring down the heat to the ground, but intermittent clouds are expected to grace the skies as well. That’s when the winds are predicted to spurt at 15 mph.

Overall, Sunday, May 9, will be a pleasant day for golf. The Wells Fargo Championship’s final round will feature incredible talents contending for the title, and the weather will do its part in keeping the conditions playable.
