1. Almost became a housing development 

The land of the golf course had almost become a housing development, as it was carved up into dozens of small residential lots. However, Samuel Finley Brown Morse bought back the land and built this incredible golf course.

2. First Championship golf course with underground irrigation

Irrigation is one of the most crucial aspects of a golf course. However, it was difficult initially to water the entire course. But this was the first championship golf course in the United States with the tee-to-green underground irrigation system. 

3. Part of a few Hollywood classics

Pebble Beach is one of the most picturesque golf courses in the United States or even in the world. Hence, it has been part of a few Hollywood movies like National Velvet as the coast of England in 1945, Follow the Sun as itself in 1951.

4. The approach on the 8th hole is probably the best around the world

The approach shot on the 8th hole is iconic. The line off the tee initially has to be great to ensure a better approach shot. The green is tiny, surrounded by ocean and bunkers, and hence, even a slight mistake can cause trouble for players. So landing the ball on the green is a huge achievement on this hole.

Pebble Beach resorts have arguably the best of hotel room views, especially if you are a golf fan. The ocean-view room, along with the golf course, is mesmerizing.
