Rickie Fowler has been on the struggling side for quite a few years now. He is no longer a young ‘star golfer.’ Rickie is 32 years old and has five PGA Tour wins, which is far below his potential. Currently ranked 70th in the OWGR, he failed to qualify for the US Open this year. His last victory came at the Phoenix Open in 2019. And after that, he couldn’t even finish in the top 10 until the 2021 PGA Championship.

The 32-year-old golfer has recently picked up his game as he finished T8 at PGA Championship and T11 at the Memorial. But he had to play the Monday qualifiers for getting into the US Open, in which he, unfortunately, couldn’t qualify. But during these hard times, many players have been vocal about their support towards Rickie Fowler, and one such example is Max Homa.

He showered flowers upon Fowler recently in his podcast Get a Grip with Max Homa and Shane Bacon. He said, “Rickie’s probably the best dude that’s on the PGA Tour. He is an absolute saint, the nicest guy on the planet. Always puts a smile on your face like a great dude.”

Homa continued his praise by saying. “I mean, it’s just, it’s got to be hard for him. He’s probably in the top four most popular golfers in the world. And he’s not playing to it right now. And you know, that’s hard. His friends, he stays with every week are succeeding. And I’m sure it’s not easy, but he’s just going about his business.”

Continuing further, he said he doesn’t know if Rickie can live up to how much people love him to his golf game. He would have to play like Tiger in 2000, which is unrealistic for anybody in the world.

Finally, to finish Max Homa said.“I think, man, I really respect Rickie Fowler, I hope like you said, it’s not as fun when Ricky’s not playing well, and I’m glad to see him getting back to it and it’s just, I have a ton of respect for that guy.”

Max Homa is currently at Torrey Pines, competing in the 2021 US Open. He believes Rickie still has a lot of golf left in him and will make a strong comeback in the upcoming days. Meanwhile,  Rickie Fowler will compete in as many tournaments as possible in the upcoming days and will try to get his game back on track.
