Bryson DeChambeau is one of the most prominent golfers on the PGA Tour. He has eight PGA Tour wins and a major championship in his career so far. Recently, he revealed a huge thing about his career. Bryson said he was about to quit golf this year after being in the headlines for all the wrong reasons. 

He was a talking point of the entire golfing world and faced a lot of criticism throughout the year. Hence, DeChambeau had decided to distance himself from all these things by quitting golf. But advice from a famous name saved him from doing this. So let us have a look at this incident.

Bryson DeChambeau reveals he was about to quit golf

During the pre-round press conference of the 2021 Hero World Challenge, Bryson talked with the media. He said“There was a point in time, and I am not kidding where I just felt like I wanted to leave the game.” Meanwhile, the 28-year-old had plenty of controversies throughout the year.

Initially, the feud with Brooks Koepka, then a split with his long-time caddie Tim Tucker, and his comments about his equipment sponsors Cobra’s driver. Furthermore, he even stopped talking to the media for a while as he thought they were misquoting him.

“People were damaging my character. It was all the stuff that was going on in social media. I was like, I really don’t need this. I can walk away and be totally fine the rest of my life, be happy and go hit the long ball and call it a day.” However, he found support from the Hollywood actor Chris Pratt.

Pratt advised Bryson to not let people define him. “He told me when I am out on the golf course, people are going to define you and relate you to the golf. What really defines you is the person you are outside the game of golf. You’ve got to look at it as an opportunity to show people who you truly are.”

Hence, this motivated Bryson to keep going, and soon, during the Ryder Cup at Whistling Straits, he received a tremendous amount of love and support from the crowd. And since then, the hate for Bryson among the fans has reduced.
