The second round saw plenty of action unfold at Torrey Pines. Since it was Round 2, a 36-hole cut was imposed at the end of the day and several top names failed to qualify, including former champion Justin Rose.

Englishman Richard Bland shot a 67 on Friday and gained ten places on the leaderboard. He now leads the U.S. Open 2021 with a score of 5-under for the tournament. Russell Henley is also tied for first place, while Louis Oosthuizen and Matthew Wolff are T2 with 4-under.
