The final major of the year is here! The Open 2021 will be the 149th edition, in what is the oldest golf tournament in history. It is being played at Royal St.George’s this year, and here’s everything you need to know ahead of Round 1 on Thursday.

The Open 2021 will see a star-studded field compete at Royal St.George’s this year. However, a lot of big names will miss out as well, as travel restrictions due to COVID-19 have forced many players to withdraw. 

Shane Lowry is the defending champion at The Open 2021. Lowry won the tournament with a score of 15-under par over four rounds at the Royal Portrush Club (Dunluce Course), a couple of years ago.

As for the Round 1 weather, it is expected to be pleasant with good shades of the sun showing up. There is only a 7% chance of precipitation and wind gushes can reach upto 28 km/h/17.3 mp/h.
