‘I Decided to Step Away’ – Greg Norman Makes a Huge Announcement

Greg Norman is currently making the headlines in the golfing world for his association with the Super Golf League. Meanwhile, there was reportedly a private meeting with a few golf media members where Greg Norman was announced as the commissioner. However, they haven’t announced the complete structure of this tour yet. 

However, earlier today, the Saudi-backed golf league announced Norman’s association with the Liv Golf Investments. This company is backed by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), which operates on behalf of the Saudi government. So Greg Norman will be the CEO of Liv Golf and commissioner of the new Saudi-backed league.

Greg Norman opens up about his new role 

The 66-year-old recently told media members that he has taken the biggest decision of his life. He said that he has decided to hand over the reins of his company to someone else, as he won’t be able to manage both things at the same time.

“What do I do with the Greg Norman Company? It has 12 divisions. I can’t do both. I can’t put both feet in both office buildings and give 100 percent effort,” Norman told ESPN“So I stepped away from Greg Norman Company. I’m handing the reins over for the first time in my life to other individuals to run my company.”

However, Norman said that he will continue to assist his golf course design company. But apart from that, he has decided to hand over his entire company and thoroughly focus on this new beginning.

“That was a big, big decision because that’s how much I believe in this. That’s how much I believe in the people who have been behind this to get it to a point where we are now taking it and to a point where we will be live and have the first ball in the air in the [spring] of next year.”

Hence, Greg Norman has high expectations from this new Saudi-backed Super Golf League. Moreover, he believes in this project and wants to make it a huge success.
