Jack Nicklaus congratulates Rory McIlroy for his 20th PGA Tour win

We all know Jack Nicklaus likes to congratulate golfers if they pick up important victories. And that’s what he did recently, as he applauded Rory McIlroy for his 20th PGA Tour win. Nicklaus wrote: “Nice win Rory McIlroy at THE CJ CUP! Played really well, and it was great to see you back in the winner’s circle. Nice way to get the PGA Tour win No. 20!”

Moreover, Jack even said that he loved one of his quotes from the post-round interview where Rory talked about being himself. “Loved when you said that after trying to be someone you’re not, being me is enough, and I can do things like this. Good move.”

Meanwhile, Rory McIlroy was dominant in this event right from day 1. However, he started to look impressive in the third and fourth rounds to finish the event at -25 and win the event by a stroke.

Rickie Fowler and Collin Morikawa also receive appreciation from The Golden Bear

Furthermore, Jack Nicklaus who is also known as The Golden Bear praised Rickie Fowler for his exceptional performance throughout the event. He dominated the field from day one but sadly couldn’t get past McIlroy on the final day and finished T3. However, still, this is an enormous positive for Rickie, given his immense struggle on the Tour for the last couple of years. 

Hence, that’s what Jack said. “Also glad to see Rickie Fowler playing well at THE CJ CUP, right up to the end. I know he didn’t get the win, but it was very good golf from Rickie. Encouraging.”

Meanwhile, even after highlighting the two notable performances, he congratulated Collin Morikawa for his brilliant final day performance. The 2021 Open Championship winner carded a 62 on the last day to finish at second place, just a shot behind Rory. 

“And there was Collin Morikawa again, shooting 62 on Sunday for another nice finish. Congrats to Collin, as well! Tweeted Nicklaus.” 

Meanwhile, Rickie Fowler and Collin Morikawa will be competing in the ZOZO Championship, while Rory will be having a week off as he registered a win last week in Vegas.
