Jack Nicklaus Posts Cryptic Message Following Steve Stricker’s Firm Comments About 2021 Ryder Cup

Jack Nicklaus is arguably the greatest golfer ever. He has won 18 major championships in his career and is also known for his play, in the right spirits. Jack recently made a tweet and gave out a message to everyone about the upcoming Ryder Cup that will be played in September

Ryder Cup is a tournament where top players from the United States and Europe compete against each other. Jack Nicklaus recently gave a message on the same, as the current U.S. captain Steve Stricker made a strong statement about the upcoming Ryder Cup. Here’s what Nicklaus posted on Twitter following Stricker’s comments:

2021 Ryder Cup skipper Steve Stricker made a statement recently. “It’s big for us and the U.S. Team, and we need to win this one, and I think we will win this one I know we’re going to win this one and get that cup back here in the states,” he said. 

Steve Stricker is a three-time U.S. Ryder Cup team member. He became the captain of the side in 2019 but unfortunately lost the cup as Europe regained it on a thrilling final day finish.

But Jack Nicklaus does not seem to be impressed by this statement. He gave a message to all the fans and players. “The Ryder Cup is a goodwill match between golfing nations. I don’t think who wins is all that important. What’s most important is the spirit in which the matches are played”.

And additionally, he also thanked the PGA of America for keeping an award named Nicklaus-Jacklin award in this year’s Ryder Cup. The award is for the players who play the Ryder Cup in the right spirit of the game. The 1969 Ryder Cup incident between Jack Nicklaus and Tony Jacklin serves as inspiration behind the award.
