Justin Thomas Reveals the Reason for Wearing Sunglasses at the Hero World Challenge

Justin Thomas is one of the most prominent golfers on the PGA Tour. He has 14 PGA Tour wins and a major championship victory in his career so far. Currently, JT is competing at the Hero World Challenge and has had an excellent start to the event. Justin is T4 with a score of -5 and is just a stroke behind the leaders. 

Meanwhile, Justin played the first round with sunglasses, which became a talking point of the day. JT has never used sunglasses while playing golf. But yesterday, for the first time, fans saw him with sunglasses. So let us see why did Thomas use sunglasses on the course.

Justin Thomas had a great start to the Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas. He is just a shot behind the three-way tie leaders. Thomas carded 67 but was disappointed with the way he finished. He concluded his round one with a double bogey and missed the chance of finishing as a solo leader.

Meanwhile, JT had a LASIK operation a week and a half ago, and that’s why he was wearing sunglasses throughout the round. Moreover, during the post-round interview, a reporter asked Justin about this operation. “Yeah, I have been wanting to do it for a while, and it finally just worked out with the schedule to get it done,” said JT

“That’s why I keep walking around with sunglasses. I don’t wear those too often, just trying to protect my eyes. Yeah, it was nice to get that done a week and a half ago and try to put it to the test here this week.”

Moreover, he seems to have done a great job. Apart from the final hole, JT was incredible throughout the day. Now going into the second round, Justin Thomas will be hopeful of a similar performance and remain in contention as the competition moves into the weekend. Furthermore, after round one Rory McIlroy, Daniel Berger, and Abraham Ancer share the lead with a score of -6.
