Tiger Woods has won the 2021 Player Impact Program, not Phil Mickelson. Although it came out late, the PGA Tour did finally announce all the top 10 winners of the program. However, the 2021 Sony Open Champion Kevin Na is not happy with the results.

Na took Twitter to react to the new announcement from the PGA Tour in which they disclosed the PIP winner of 2021 as Tiger and not Mickelson.

According to his tweet, Na didn’t sound happy with the result as he, too, thought Mickelson had won the PIP. “I’m all for paying @TigerWoods because he made us all richer but he didn’t hit 1 shot in 2021,” said Kevin. “I thought @PhilMickelsonwon. Did this result have any affect in the last 2 weeks?”

How did Tiger Woods win the PIP fund? 

According to the PGA Tour, there had been five criteria using which each golfer was measured. Internet searches earned media, social media, TV sponsor exposure, and awareness were the five criteria that the PGA took to measure the winners.

Tiger didn’t get to play any official tournament for almost a year because of his accident. However, he still managed to top some of the criteria because of his legacy. Moreover, his return to the 2021 PNC Championship with his son garnered much interest from the fans.

According to the PGA, it was not a surprise that Tiger had won the first prize because of his popularity. The golf world knows what he has done for the sport, and just because he stopped playing for a year, it won’t fade away.

The legacy of Woods is incomparable. That is why he is considered to be the GOAT of golf. Considering all the things he has done to promote the sport, the PGA honored Tiger Woods.
